Reviews
"Aside from the utter lack of pretension, what we love about this book is the pure focus on making the most of seasonal ingredients by layering in flavor while still keeping things honest and straightforward. We were won over by Susan's suggestion to use chopped olives and oregano to transform a simple dish of pasta and chickpeas into something briny and fragrant; this is just the sort of brilliant but unfussy attention to detail that ensures this combination will make its way into our weekly rotation...We think of The Simply Vegetarian Cookbook as a dear friend whose first language is home cook, but who also happens to be fluent in vegetarian."--Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs, Co-founders of Food52, "Aside from the utter lack of pretension, what we love about this book is the pure focus on making the most of seasonal ingredients by layering in flavor while still keeping things honest and straightforward. Her recipes are delightfully simple, but still surprisingly creative, fresh, and full of flavor. Every recipe has a little twist that elevates it above the usual without making it overly complicated to cook or shop for. I especially love how the recipes are divided by cooking time/method so that I don't have to waste time sorting through to find a dish that suits my current situation."--Robin Donovan, Author of The Healthy Make-Ahead Cookbook: Wholesome, Flavorful Freezer Meals the Whole Family Will Enjoy, Campfire Cuisine: Gourmet Recipes for the Great Outdoors, and creator of the blog Two Lazy Gourmets "For vegetarians and those aspiring to a more plant-based diet, this is a book for cooking fresh, seasonal meals with the bonus of tips for flexitarians to add an animal protein of choice. Cleverly organized by cooking methods instead of ingredients or meal times, it's quick to search and choose from the many enticing recipes. Susan's functional format and simple recipes with fantastic flavor make cooking from her book fast, fun, and always delicious!"--Rosemary Mark, Nutritional and Culinary Consultant, "As an omnivore with vegetarian leanings married to a carnivore, I appreciate Susan Pridmore's straightforward approach to delicious vegetarian fare that can just as easily serve as the main event or be served alongside meat dishes. - 6***m (819)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseGood transaction. I received this book in good time. It was nicely packaged (with several other books), so no damage to it while in transit. It is in good condition, and looks just as it was described and photographed in the listing. What more do you want in an eBay transaction? I’ve bought a few from this seller and wouldn't have any hesitation in buying from them again. Thank you!
- 2***o (81)- Feedback left by buyer.Past yearVerified purchaseOrdered Tuesday night. Shipped early Wednesday morning. Arrived on time Saturday morning by USPS Bound Printed Matter from TN to WI. It was packaged in a gray plastic shipping bag without cushioning. End of spine had minor shipping damage (see photos). It was the only noticeable condition issue on an otherwise very good used cookbook. Exceptional value. Good experience with a not-for-profit organization. - _***u (1629)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseWow, pleasantly surprised to receive a brand new copy still in the shrink wrap, although it has a little bump on the top cover that goes through to several pages, makes no difference, as I got the book at a bargain price. Fast shipping, very happy with my purchase, I recommend this seller!
