Every once in a while a book comes out that is so good it makes people pay attention. Migene Gonzalez-Wippler's The Complete Book of Spells, Ceremonies & Magic is one of those books. When it first appeared it received wide acclaim in the U.S. and in England. I still have my original copy. But as frequently happens with even the best of books, it went out of print. When it became available to be republished, I enthusiastically went for it! Migene writes that her intention in writing this book was "to show the importance of the practice of magic in the development of the human psyche. I don't believe in the supernatural . I believe in nature and all things natural. Everything that happens in this world always happens through natural channels and in accordance with immutable cosmic laws." This book may well be the ultimate proof of that belief. This is an amazing cross-cultural compendium of magic, theory, ritual, spells and lore. If you do magic, it will give you new directions and techniques that can advance and enhance what you do. If you would like to know about magic, this book presents the subject from the viewpoint of not only a scholar, but a practitioner. And for people interested in native cultures around the world, this book is also an invaluable resource.
