It was clearly used and repackaged. To the credit of the seller, they did accept a return and gave a refund. I had purchased it as a gift and was not aware it had been returned. I thought it was a new product.

The package of screws was opened and one was missing; I had to find a screw around my house to properly mount it. I was unable to interlink the alarms; I'm not sure if this is a defect of the product or because one was already in use. Both alarms work so it was worth the price, I just wish I they both arrived on new condition.
