Bubble wrap, foam, and Styrofoam popcorn were all used to secure the scanner and prevent any damage. The unit was as described. Although used, I can see no evidence of scratches, dents, etc. The value is outstanding. I'm using this scanner in a backup station in my home office. So a used unit that is like new was the perfect option for me.
