This set of four games follows the exploits of the heroic Master Chief in his campaign against the Covenant. Whether you're a newcomer to the franchise or you've been there from the beginning, this collection is worth adding to your shelf. "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" is the first game in the series. Microsoft has redone this title from the ground up for the Xbox One. The original game's graphics were completely redone in regard to textures, models, and special effects. Players can switch back to the old graphics with the press of a button. The entire campaign of the original game is unaltered, letting players relive their favorite moments from 2001. "Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" will take most gamers roughly 10 hours to complete. The second game in this set also received a similar makeover. "Halo 2" features improved graphics for the models and special effects. Like the first title, players can switch between the graphics modes at any time. The audio was also re-recorded in terms of soundtrack and voices. The improvements don't stop there: The cut scenes were extended and provide further insights into the story. "Halo 3" and "Halo 4" were originally released on the Xbox 360. As a result, the graphics in "Halo 3" and "Halo 4" have held up over time. Both games, however, still received touchups for Xbox One consoles. With the additional improvements, "Halo 3" and "Halo 4" look outstanding even when compared to video games made specifically for the Xbox One. As an extra bonus, "The Master Chief Collection" also includes the digital series "Halo: Nightfall." This show uses a live-action show to tell a story not seen in any previous title. "The Master Chief Collection" features a total of 45 campaign missions spread across all four games. As a result, this version packs more than 30 hours of single-player gaming onto one disc. When you've finished all the single-player modes, the fun is far from over. The title features a full suite of multiplayer gaming modes for both local and online play. The multiplayer mode features over 100 maps, including every map from both "Halo 3" and "Halo 4." Six of the maps from the second title were also completely redesigned from the ground up. The collection also features every multiplayer type, ranging from the simple Deathmatch to the fan-favorite Oddball. "The Master Chief Collection" on the Xbox One makes the perfect gift for any gamer who is looking to get into the franchise, or you can add it to your own shelf. The games have a rating of M for mature. With four single-player games and over 100 multiplayer maps, this game provides many hours of play.
