The clips do not open wide enough. You can't put it on anything. I bought other ones that we can actually use on cups and pans. Find another version.

The pot I use this on has curved (flared) rim. Clips do not open very wide so not easy to put on. I put the strainer on before heating. Would probably be easier to put on pots with straight sides.
