It said boar bristles and there are some but there are hard plastic bristles as well. I don't know if I love this. It scratches my head more, and the brush pushes through all the strands, I assume the boar bristles do their thing. My only concern is if it will damage my hair because of the plastic. We'll see. I used it once and it felt good, some hair on the brush but my hair was a mess so I expected it. I liked the results.
