My mom is 100 1/2 years old. She enlisted in the US Navy Waves on her 20th birthday in 1943. I never wear her pin, but this year I volunteered to place flags on Vet’s graves in Nassau Knolls. I cleared n placed 35 flags n touched her pin n saluted n thanked each one for their service. Next day I wore her pin to our local parade n thanked every Vet. Later in the afternoon I noticed my pin was missing. I found it the following Sat. In the street outside mom’s.
