I found Parrot and Kali to be excellent: very fast and full of useful utilities. The other distros had varied results: Tails booted but appeared to hang (probably just couldn't start Xorg) and both Arch-based distros stalled at the Plymouth progress screen. I would guess that these issues were due to me having an Nvidia video card: some tinkering is necessary. I'm used to that.
