A piece of the cloth that represents about 40% of the loss at the bottom I will leave between the front inside cover and its end paper. Interestingly, as you can see the underlying paper has the date October 1858. There is some wear at the cover corners, a few dents on the cover edges, a few spots of rub-through on the rear covers bottom edge. The binding of the book is pretty solid, including the covers, but there is naturally a space at the juncture where the missing parts of the spine are. The pages are solidly bound throughout. They also are quite clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. Also not finding any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases. There are no attachments of any kind. There are no markings. And no writing other than what I have previously mentioned.”
