In 1991, Dan Alloway and Gregg Carthy of KTEP-FM's "Folk Fury" invited local (El Paso/Las Cruces) musicians to come into the station on the Saturday before Christmas. That year I sang a forgettably maudlin Country song. The next year and every year since I wrote my own Christmas songs. Some were lost. Some are not worth remembering. But some of my favorites from twenty years (1992-2012) of Folk Fury Christmas Shows are included on the new CD - Hug A Bum (Don't Say Bah Humbug). It's all folk music, from the lyrical fun of the opening track, Happy Holy Days, to the bluegrass narrative of Spending Spree, the closing song. I intended a solo project, but some songs needed more energy. Doug Adamz (violin/guitar), Hal Marcus (percussion), and Jorge Guzman (accordion) bring the rhythms of the world to the CD. Thirteen songs where I say the word Christmas at least 50 times, even in my Hanukah song. Roberto Bonazzi, San Antonio Express-News (2013) - "Keller's energetic lines crackle with humor."
