The lens has a 24mm-wide focal length on FX-format digital single-lens reflex cameras and 36mm for DX formats. Moreover, the Nikon NIKKOR AF-S 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 G VR ED uses a seven-blade round diaphragm, this optical construction for the Nikon NIKKOR 24-85mm results into spherical distortions and chromatic aberrations along the zoom range. Nikon’s specially formulated super integrated lens coating (SIC) increases contrast and controls flares and ghosting.
