I did go into the old switch and found a lot of oxidation on a contact (obvious indications of an small arc at that location) and cleaned it up. When my SO told me the new switch was not working I re-installed the old one and it works for the time being. Certainly not the easiest thing to get back together once opened! No complaints with seller, maybe a bad unit tho
