Initially, I didn't like how it made the radar detector hang down so far with the bracket exposed. With my engineering background, I wondered if the adhesive bracket would work with the original mount that came with the unit. I removed the suction cup and attached the original mount to the adhesive mount. This allowed me to position the radar detector all the way up to the top of the window, making it more secure and less visible to peering eyes.
