    I received the Singer Merritt on time. The description of the machine’s condition was accurate, with one exception, the bottom corner of the sewing machine was broken off. The damage probably occurred during shipping, as there was no packing material to protect the machine. The base is made of of fiberglass and would not withstand uncushioned force if plunked down. Despite damage, the machine works well and the price was reasonable, so I am keeping it and gluing the broken hunk back on.
