You will find them a to be an unusual detail for a country market, chicken coop, or whatever you wish. Still, they look good and can be painted. I will try applying white paint through the bars to the chickens and then repainting the cages. I am pleased with my purchase as I have some disposable income for adding lots of detail to my layout. Others may not not be impressed with having just three chicken crates/
