      Rules for everyone

One of the foundations of the eBay experience is the level of trust between all members of the eBay community. To maintain that trust, we expect all members to treat each other with respect.

There are rules that all eBay members, both buyers and sellers, need to know and follow. These rules are created to protect you and to keep eBay a safe place to buy, sell, and participate in the community.

When a buyer or seller issue comes up, depending on the particular situation, eBay may consider an individual’s performance history and the specific circumstances, which can influence how we apply our rules and policies. At our discretion, eBay may choose to be more lenient with policy enforcement, with the goal of doing the right thing in the circumstances.

Activity on eBay is required to follow this policy, the eBay User Agreement and all applicable laws, as well as respect the rights of third parties. If it doesn’t, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: Removing the listing or other content, issuing a warning, restricting activity or account suspension.
