A Sneaker's Take on Yummy: adidas Yeezy Oreo 2016

Strongly resembling the snack after which it received its nickname, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Oreo has become as iconic as the entire line. Several features help the "Oreo" stand out from other Yeezy Boost sneakers. At the same time, Oreo sneakers use similar technology to offer the comfort and versatility owners of previous Yeezy Boost 350 v2 shoes have come to expect.

Appearance of the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Oreo

Many prospective sneaker owners visualize the "Oreos" as black and white Yeezys. Indeed, the Oreo v2 Yeezy has black uppers, but the lateral stripe is cream-colored. An innovative feature is the mirroring of the lateral stripe. The sneaker appears with the left-to-right orientation of the SPLY-350 text on the left shoe and the stripe and wording upside down and backward on the right kick.

Another unusual feature of the entire stripe pack is the visibility of the inner lining's contrasting color through the pores of the Primeknit weave. The color novelty gave new meaning to the term two-tone Yeezy. It gives the "Oreo," specifically, a cream-colored speckling under the main black color. The stripe fades towards the heel and the toe, lending an interesting spattering at either end. Finishing the look is the semi-translucent rubber outsole that matches the uppers, is ridged, and wraps around the midsole.

Background of Yeezy Oreo

Yeezy Oreos dropped in mid-December of 2016. Their design and timing made them seem almost an afterthought of the Black Friday line. The Black Friday series, released in November of that same year, features an identical shoe to the "Oreos" with black Primeknit uppers. The three colorways refer to the inner sleeve and lateral stripe in green, red, or copper.

V2 350 Boost specs

The 350 v2 350 Boost has a low-top silhouette with a box-shaped toe and a moderate sweep to the heel. It has the adidas Boost cushioning system that not only provides a dynamic bounce quality but also flexibility and temperature resistance. Unlike some shoes whereby the Boost technology is readily visible through the midsole, the v2 350 covers it with a rubber outsole. You can more easily visualize the Boost system through a triangular notch under the rear part of the shoe. Primeknit comprises the uppers which provide support and foot mobility.
