What types of labels can the Zebra LP 2824 use?

Aside from standard labels, the Zebra LP 2824 label printer can use several different types of labels and printing mediums. Be sure that any label rolls you use have a maximum outer diameter of 5 inches, a core roll diameter of 1 inch, and a width of 2.35 inches. The different labels and mediums you can use are:

  • Continuous forms - These are long forms typically made from either thermal paper or carbon paper. Some forms have printing already on them while others are blank.
  • Fanfold paper - These are labels that have been folded up like a fan. This allows you to get more labels into the printer.
  • Perforated thermal paper - The Zebra LP 2824 Plus uses direct thermal printing that allows it to print on thermal paper. Perforated paper makes it easier to rip off the printed piece.
  • Linerless labels - This is a greener type of label that doesn't have a liner on the bottom. Each label is coated so that they don't stick to each other.
What software is needed with the Zebra LP 2824?

While there is designer software made for all Zebra label printers called ZebraDesigner, you can also download Zebra 2824 Plus drivers from the manufacturer's website that allow this printer to work with any other application. Depending on your computer, the drivers may either automatically download and install, or you may have to visit the manufacturer's website after connecting the label printer.

How do you load rolls into the Zebra 2824?

Loading labels and other printing mediums into the Zebra LP 2824 Plus printer only takes a few seconds. Open the printer by pushing the green tabs on the left and right sides of the device. Remove the old roll and then open the plastic arms. Pushing just one of the arms should make both of them move. Insert the new roll and line it up with the center of the plastic arms. There should be a circle there to stabilize the center roll of the labels. Let go of the arms and feed part of the labels through the front of the printer. Close the top and you're all finished.
