Black and red colorways have been a staple of the Air Jordan from almost the very beginning, even earning their own separate moniker of "bred" when featured in combination. This special mid-top re-release of the Air Jordan 1 once again showcases the bred colorway, but this time reverses the usual way in which black and red are laid out on the body of the shoe. In this version, black and red leather both form the base material in various areas. Black is visible on the perforated roof of the toe box, and red is featured in the base material across the midfoot. The heel and collar overlays, as well as the Nike Swoosh, are black, while the overlays that go around the toebox, up the midfoot, and across the eyelets are red.
