The Cintiq 22HD allows you to draw, color, doodle, and edit a digital image just as if you were painting an actual picture. This device, available on eBay in new and used condition, includes a 21.5-inch high-definition display and a pressure-sensitive pen or stylus. It also comes with various features to maximize your productivity.

The display itself resembles a large tablet. It is the canvas upon which you create your image. It is equipped with the following features (see the manufacturer site for details):

• Full HD resolution: The tablet has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels for additional clarity and detail. It also supports 16.7 million colors.
• IPS technology: IPS, which stands for in-plane switching, is a type of LCD screen with a vertical and horizontal viewing angle of 178 degrees. Normal LCD screens begin to lose quality after a more limited angle.
• Rotating stand: The rotating stand can be adjusted into landscape or portrait mode or tilted into a variety of desired positions up to 40 degrees.
• Express keys: These are 16 customizable keys that give you one-touch access to various shortcuts.
• Touch strips: Zoom, scroll, and change brush sizes all with a single touch-sensitive button.

Wacoms grip pen recognizes 2,048 pressure levels and lets you create different line widths based on its tilt angle. The pressure level describes the amount of pressure required before the screen will register a stroke from the pen. More sensitivity is not always better, but it does allow you to create finer strokes. Ten replacement pen nibs and a nib removal come standard with the graphic tablet.

The tablet has both a USB 2.0 and a DVI-I port to which you can attach an adapter. The USB port allows you to transfer data between the tablet and a PC or Mac device. The DVI-I interface can connect to an external digital or analog video source. Both USB and DVI-D cables are included in the standard package. An analog DVI cable, though not included with the display, is compatible as well.

The regular tablet does not support multi-touch gestures. However, the Cintiq 22HD Touch does add multi-touch support to make the on-screen controls easier.
