Seller Notes: “All volumes are tightly bound with no loose pages. The text pages are in overall great condition - ... “All volumes are tightly bound with no loose pages. The text pages are in overall great condition - mostly clean with only an occasional light ink smudge or foxing spot; no writing found; excellent condition engravings. Nice spines with bright gilt lettering and light shelf wear to tops/bottoms of spines and at a few locations on the hinges. The most notable condition flaw is the back cover of VOL I, which has bubbling under the cloth at the left half of the board; the other 2 volumes also have a few areas where bubbling has occurred, but to a much lesser degree. Light corner wear (the tips of the boards are exposed). VOLs II and III each have a couple pages where there are a couple light, half-oval stains at the gutters (but in the margins only...text is not affected). The opposite sides of the marbled end papers have tanning/staining. The volumes open nicely - the covers are firmly attached and in place. Overall the set is in very good condition - buy with confidence!”
