Seller Notes: “Two volumes in very good restored bindings. The books have been re-backed in dark brown leather, ... “Two volumes in very good restored bindings. The books have been re-backed in dark brown leather, with the original title labels laid on (that of Volume One having lost the middle third). The board corners have been repaired. Volume Two has some worming in the lower page margin, travelling from the endpapers to page 67, rapidly diminishing to a single hole. The first few leaves have had this hole patched with Japanese tissue to stablise the pages (see photos). The front endpapers have 18th century ownership inscriptions. There is some very light scattered foxing in the books, but otherwise they are mainly clean and bright. 12 plates by Hayman, plus a portrait frontispiece.”
