Scarce book, this is. I believe, the first edition (1921 is second, revised) with two charts for building steam cargo ships. Includes a glossary of nautical terms, 238p., indexed, with a patriotic sticker from Van Nostrand on the inside rear cover. Some wear but generally vg, the usual nick here and there, some staining at the top of the charts but they are whole. No dj. Preface suggests this book is a response to WWI and shipping problems it revealed. Tells how to organize the shipyard down to actual details, illustrated by graphics, of building the ship itself. |
