The knife appears to be new as described even though the knife arrived in between some pieces of cardboard. I purchased this knife to replace one in our kitchen knife set I purchased from a co-worker way back in the mid 80's. I have found the Parker Brothers knifes to hold an edge better than any other knife except the old Buck knifes that were made in the USA.
