How We Measure our Heel Height

There are two methods to measure heel height:

Method #1: To the Back of the heel (not included the top of the sole)

Method #2: At the Center of the heel

At Shoe Trailer we use method #1 as we find a more consistent result.

In the image you can see two different shoes with the same heel height. If you were to measure the heel with the method used at Shoe Trailer both shoes would measure a 3.5" heel.

If method #2 is used and measure the heel height from center of the heel. As you can see from the diagram, measuring these shoes from the center of the heel achieves two different heel heights when clearly the shoes are the same heel height.

Shaft Height:

This measurement is taken on the inside seam of the boot, and is measured from where the shaft meets to sole (not including the heels, look at the picture) of the boot, to the top of the shaft.

To determine where the top of a boot will hit on your leg, measure the height of the shaft against the inside of your leg, starting at your instep.

Circumference:

This is the measurement around the top inside part of the shaft of the boot.

To see if tall boots will fit, look at the measurement of the shaft height of the current boots and measure the height of the shaft against your leg, starting at your instep. Then measure the top part of your calf (where the boot tallest part is).

For example if the shaft measure is 14.5, and calf circumference is 15.5, then measure your leg from the instep 14.5 upward, then at that point measure your calf circumference and compare with the boots calf circumference to see if it will fit you.

New: Display - Shoes were tried in stores, floor samples, or displays. They might have minor scuffs, creases or scratches, these shoes were never worn before and are almost like brand new condition.

Gently Used - Shoes may be returns or show minor signs of wear. These shoes are still in good condition.

Combined shipping is done at the sellers discretion. If you purchase more than one item from us, they may arrive in separate packages.

We do some times combine shipping and the shipping cost based on the total weight of all the items. For example if an item weight is 2 lbs., and the shipping cost is $7.75 (based on buyer location), and the second item weight is 3 lbs., so the total weight is 5 lbs., you will pay an additional $4.75 for the extra weight of the second item.

All our packages (including International shipping) are automatically insured.

All our packages are shipped with Delivery or Tracking confirmation except on First Class Mail® International Shipping).
