I got this gorilla glued to the old plastic trim for the shifter boot. I was initially worried the plastic trim would not snap into place with the leather being thicker than the OEM boot, but it actually holds on firmly. Only gripes I have about this is the corners are a little bit of a challenge to tuck under the trim, guess you could always trim it back
