Had a problem of strange messages on my car a few years ago and it proved to be caused by the brake pressure sensor. I had some again and thought the spurious messages were again being caused by the sensor so ordered one from here as it is a fraction of the VAG price. It turned out that they weren't but from another software problem which the local friendly garage sorted. I now have a spare if it happens again.
