Item Subtitle

By adding a Subtitle to your listing, you can provide descriptive information on your item below the main title that buyers will see when browsing categories or viewing search results. Subtitle allows you to provide additional information, which may not have fit in the title field, but would be of interest to potential buyers viewing a list of items. Subtitle also allows you to differentiate your item by calling out key selling points for buyers. On average, listings showing Subtitle in search results are 18% more likely to sell.

Note: The text included in the Subtitle will not be searchable when buyers conduct a "Basic search" of titles. However, the Subtitle will be searchable if the buyer searches in "Titles & descriptions".

Why use the Subtitle feature?

You may wish to add a Subtitle to your listing and search results if you want to:

  • Provide additional information about your item beyond what would fit in the Title.

  • Pique the interest of potential buyers (and get them to view your listing!) by providing them more descriptive information on the item

  • Make your listing stand out in search and listings

What type of information should I put in the Subtitle field?

  • Additional information about what you are selling (eg: brand name, artist, designer, accessories, options)

  • Words that you think buyers would generally not search on in a title, but would be of interest to them in a description (eg: item condition, benefits, specifications, model #, any extras you might offer)
